- How old are you?

23 summers young

- Which country are you from?

England

- Have you been to Denmark before?

Yes ! I stayed earlier this year from Feburary to April on a Workaway/Artist Residency at Tolne Gjæstgivergaard.
I developed a project using the printform of etching to trace the ancient woodlands as well as collaborating with another volunteer to create a film on the process and the surrounding landscape. I also got to put on a exhibition of my work before leaving.

- What kind of art-form are you most interested in ? / Which artistic knowledge will you bring to the Nordic Culture Camp?

Walking, Printmaking, Moving image and Storytelling. Exploring ways of thinking about our landscape to evoke a feeling of freedom and playfulness within creating.

I am interested in allowing nature to shape the work. Through capturing the physical movement of these temporal, chanced-based happenings within the landscape, my work captures the movement of nature alongside the movement of my body.

-  What made you apply for the Camp?

The theme of this years Nordic Culture Camp is 'Opening up’. I read this and immediately thought about the importance of slowing down within everyday life in order to see the world with fresh eyes. When we slow down, we can open up discussion and bring change. Through the wider wonder that nature brings, with it's arms wide open, stretching, balancing, embracing and creating energy from the outside in.

The Culture Camp will allow me to draw upon my skills, to stimulate new insights into my place in the world and to help shape my outlook.

- What are your expectations about the Camp? / What are you most excited about will happen during the weekend?

As one of the 20 young artists from all over Europe I hope the camp will deepen my understanding of collaboration. Working towards a theme will provide a platform for discussing our differences and similarities, reflected in the multiplicity of our artistic endevours. Im excited to work with creative people from all cultures and practices, and hopefully make some lasting links across borders.
